On September 30, 2023, we flew to the Knoxville Island Downtown Airport to hear “Rocky Top” and hang out with 102,000 Volunteers all crammed into Neyland Stadium. Biking into Knoxville from the Island airport is mostly nature trail along the Tennessee River biking and easy and fantastic! SEC Football is the greatest and while the Volunteers had an up and down year and the Gamecocks — well, the Gamecocks despite their talented quarterback had a typical mediocre year — the SEC is still the most exciting college football around. Tenn supporters were very friendly and offered us food and drink all day! Neyland is by far the loudest stadium I’ve been and it was so worth the trip — even though the Gamecocks lost.
