On June 16, 2023, the City of Greenville opened the Swamp Rabbit Bicycle Trail extension linking dozens of businesses to the bicycle trail including the Greenville Downtown Airport. On July 1, 2023, I met up with the Director of the Greenville Downtown Airport Commission, James Stephens, and he and I biked from the South Ramp to downtown Greenville and onto Unity Park — all without leaving the Swamp Rabbit! Of course, we stopped along the way to visit a few breweries and restaurants all situated on the trail.
Greenville is now a unique WeFlyNBike destination because there aren’t many cities the size of Greenville that have safe and easy biking from an airport to its downtown. Of course, I am biased because Greenville is my home, but I believe Greenville is now one of the best Fly and Bike destinations that I know. There is so much to do here and the biking is a breeze because you never have to leave the trail!
