Jekyll Island, GA is a jewel. Owned by the State of Georgia, Jekyll remains mostly undeveloped because GA law requires 65% of the island to remain in its natural state. I had been there once as a young child and always wanted to go back. This trip to Jekyll was particularly special. I had a free weekend (both kids are away at college and my wife was out of town) and I decided to take a day trip to the beach my dog, Pippa. Pippa dog had been banned from all airports for a while (*see full story) and she is now 12 years old and getting up there in dog years. I always wanted to give her one last swim in the ocean and we had a great day at the beach!
